MUSIC

Music and creativity take many forms across the grades.

Junior and Senior Kindergarten students enjoy Music and Movement classes, engaging their love of singing, moving and playing simple rhythm instruments.

Primary students engage in singing and rhythm instruments, and gain an understanding of pitch, dynamics and simple theory.

Junior grades enjoy recorders, bucket drumming, Boomwackers® and xylophones, as well as theory that aids in their understanding of making music.

Intermediate students learn to play brass instruments, honing their skills as members of an ensemble.

Students across the grades learn an appreciation and awareness of a variety of music from different eras and cultures. Through these activities, students develop musical and creative abilities that will allow them to enjoy music for life.
